Things I'm Loving Right Now

Water bottles with filters. I love these Camelbak ones. So when you're sweatin' it up a the gym, you know you're getting the best water to energize your bod.

Old bikes used as garden accessories. There's something so DIY country chic about it. It says, spring is here!!! and the warm sunny weather doesn't hurt either.

And if you don't have a garden in your backyard, then you can always get the next best thing... spring in a jar. Bath and Body Works has the best smelling spring scented candles right now. My favorite is Lilac Blossom, but they have other yummy scents like Spring Bloom and Flower Shop etc.

Turquoise Jewelry. Yes, I know it was in only about 2 years ago, but in my opinion, turquoise never goes out of fashion. I never take off my favorite turquoise ring and I'm always expanding my collection little by little.

The website, dearphotograph.com I could browse through those photos all day long. It also inspires me to visit locations of my old photos and attempt to take one.

Newman's Olive Oil. The main reason why I love Newman's Own is because all their profits go towards charity. Their entire line of salad dressings are all organic and I'm loving the olive oil/ basalmic vinegar combo.

Crocheted tops. Im obsessed. I bought this one in red and black although I was temped to buy every color. Shopping is my addiction.

Living in the Sun

Today was GORGEOUS!! I packed all my clothes up (with the exception of 5 days worth) and transferred them to the new house!! Over the weekend, my parents signed the house papers (and we celebrated with margaritas) so now we officially can move in. The moving truck is coming tomorrow, but I thought I'd get a head start. So basically my room is empty, but my closet is full. In the process of driving to and from the house a couple of times, I stopped to tan a bit because it was so hot out. Aside from getting some really bad tanlines from my tank, it was the best day ev. I stayed at the house for a bit, organized my things, had a few beers while i tanned, and listened to some Katy Perry, David Guetta, and of course, my girl Nicki Minaj.

My concrete beach.

Fully stocked fridge. All I need.

And 30 minutes in the Colorado sun will do this to you....

Scenes from Denver

Last night I went out to see the Hunger Games. Incredible movie and great film shots and acting. Idid not read the book, but hve heard that it follows it pretty closely- obviously without the intense detail that a book can provide. Although I simply cannot ignore that it closely resembles the movie, The Condemned. If you havent seen that movie, its worth a watch. I loved that one too. But again, super similar plot lines as the Hunger Games. I cant wait for the next movies in the trilogy to come out... I'm not that much of a reader. And now.... SCENES.

Really? $5 bras? Forever 21 is really giving Victorias Secret some competition. LOL

Brothers... a little taste of back home.

Damn right... Guinness Knows.

My half birthday

I'M 23.5!!!!!!! Now the new better version of "Leah 23.0" Well, I actually forgot to celebrate my half birthday. I think Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras just sort of overshadowed any other important event in my life. Nonetheless, boys gave me beads and I saw some girl's tits. She was flashing everyone. I was actually surprised she didn't have more beads. But I see boobs at work every day -- no, not at the strip club, at Victoria's Secret. Speaking of, I have actually been seeing more and more VS on tv. Just last week, the NBC show, 'Whitney' featured a 'sand bra' which was supposed to increase your bust by 3 cup sizes. Well the actual bra she was wearing was in fact the Miraculous from Victoria's Secret. (I was actually surprised they used the color nude for filming - wouldnt you think it'd be a fun color??) And the Miraculous bra is supposed to increase 2 cup sizes. Us VS girls know our bras. I was watching reruns of Californication about a month ago and one of the girls was wearing one of our rompers from the Body by Victoria Line. I also love the Kardashians and they have alot of PINK clothes and I've seen our satin pajamas on that show too. Go VS!!! And Happy 1/2 Birthday to me! Also, I'd like to post the treats I made for valentines day. My friend, Shannon, made cake balls and they were so cute!! We have to start a bakery together!!
The text message I sent to my mom and dad

I made dipped pretzels for my coworkers with the extra leftover chocolate. YUM YUM

6th Annual Valentines Day ♥ Cupcakes!!!

Every year for Valentine's Day, I make cupcakes and give them out to all my lovers. This year, I went a bit fancier than I usually do. I made tiramisu cupcakes from scratch. (ya, not a box mix!!) I found a few recipes online and combined about 3-4 of them to create my own recipe (which still needs a bit of work). But damn were they delicious. I made the cakes with whole wheat flour and flax seed. And the filling with mascarpone cheese- basically the one ingredient that MAKES tiramisu so delicious. Used espresso from Starbucks and of course added some rum to the frosting. They are to die for. On Valentines day, I am going to dip strawberries, because who doesn't love strawberries dipped in melted chocolate? My tummy is already grumbling!!! Happy (early) Valentines Day to all you lovers out there!! ♥ xo xo xo xo xo ♥

Health Kick.

In trying to lose weight, we all have our go-to snacks that satisfy a craving. I will always grab a spoonful of peanut butter when just need 'something.' It's probably not the best late night snack because it is high in fat and could be replaced with something healthier. Sometimes those well-known 'healthy snacks' just wont cut it. I cant eat fruit for every snack!! For those who like salty snacks, this is perfect.... Kale Chips. Yes, Kale. And its so easy to make and they are delicious. I made some today and my whole family LOVED them!! (Even my mother who previously said she did not like kale.) Very simple recipe- Preheat oven to 350. Rinse kale. Cut out stem/rib. Line baking tray with parchment paper. Break leaves into pieces and put on tray. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil and coat. Sprinkle sea salt (a little goes a long way). Bake for 15 min until edges are brownish and leaves are crispy. Voila!!! Its such a healthy chip replacement and you're not sacrificing flavor. And it was cheap! 98 cents for a bundle of kale. I will definitely have these laying around instead of my candy dish ;) My mom is going to even make them for her superbowl party snack!! What a perfect way to introduce healthy foods to an otherwise high-calorie event.

My new obsession.

So I've ALWAYS been a thong kinda girl and will occasionally go commando because panties are definitely overrated. (and this is coming from a girl who works at victorias secret.) Anyway-- at Vikki's Semi-Annual Sale, I bought a pair of the cheeky panties for $2.99. I figured if I didnt like em, $3 is not a lot to waste (as opposed to the regular price of $18.50. YA). So i ended up LOVING them. Literally thought it was a wedgie waiting to happen. So, at work today, I couldnt help myself so I bought another pair. (Thank god for my discount!!!) I just wish my ass looked like Adriana Lima's. Love the Pink with Black Lace.... Happy early valentines day to me!! (oh and speaking of presents/valentines day.... I'm getting a massage tomorrow!! (which is kind of ironic, because last year, i had planned to get couples massages with my bf. never got to do it cuz he ended it right before. sad.).... so one year later..... here i am getting a massage. craze. (because how often do normal people/non-celebrities get massages?!!) But seriously, I think it should be implemented in everyday life. Getting massages is now on my 'high importance' list. Its like working out, eating healthy, or getting enough sleep... just another form of well-being. They are so healthy for you... rids toxins, relaxes your body and muscles, and im sure provides endorphins.... because we all feel really good after a good rub-down. Lol. And speaking of healthy living.... my mother does jazzercise and for the past couple of times, i have gone with her. its actually really fun.... i just wish there was more strength. i like to use weights and be super sore the next day. (when i used to go to the gym at my school, i would be the only girl in the weight lifting section.) jazzercise is mostly cardio. it good enough for now. im also using livestrong.com to track my food intake. my sister had recommended the website to me and it amazing.... it has a HUGE database of foods and their specific calorie/protein/carb/sugar values. very helpful if youre calorie counting. in total, ive dropped almost 30 pounds! who hoo. ive got 20 more to go to be at my goal.

More Baking!!!

About 4 years ago, my family took a trip to California for the Rose Bowl. We went to Sprinkles Cupcakes on Santa Monica Blvd. and I became OBSESSED. Every Christmas after, my mom has been getting me their cupcake mix from Williams Sonoma. I don't use their frosting recipe, because i have my own irresistible recipe. (Theirs is a basic, powdered sugar, butter, milk combo). This time, I added little bits of toffee pieces. And omg they are DELISH. I did add more vanilla to the cake batter too. If you've never been to a Sprinkles bakery, I suggest you go- there are only a few locations, but the trip is worth it! The cupcakes are crispy on the top- and even when you bake them yourself, they turn out that way!! But after the first day, the crispiness is gone. But trust me, they wont last long before they're all gone!! Definitely going to the gym tomorrow morning!!
