Ever since I've had this queen size bed (i used to have a twin size growing up, and then had a double size at college), I've been leaving random objects in my bed and sleeping with them. I dont know if its because the bed's so large and there's room for more, or I'm too lazy to remove the items off my bed at night, but some of them are pretty strange, so id thought it make a pretty funny list.
Dec. 11 - sketchbook, computer, phone, tupperware container, stickers, and a camera case.
Dec. 12 - glasses, phone, 37 cents, cards, 4 pens and a sharpie, a small box, coat, and i did manage to take a pair of pants off my bed before i fell asleep.
Dec. 13 - birth control pills and other pill bottles, computer (thats a common one), 3 cotton balls, an envelope, a nail file, and a scarf.
Dec. 14 - pair of socks, sweatshirt, tank, leggings, etc(clothing), suede protector spray, post it, and bombshell body mist.
Dec. 15 - just a pair of sweatpants and my computer tonight! listening to the dirty heads as i fall asleep...
Dec. 19 - I can tell you who im NOT sleeping with... and that is a 15 year old child.
Dec. 20 - pair of earrings, computer, tshirt, kleenex (ive been suffering of a cold the past couple of days), checkbook, glasses, breathmints.
Dec. 25 - a waterbottle, and my sister. incest is best! lol.
Dec. 30 - shopping bag, scarf, 2 bras, moccasins, camera card, computer, and a pottery barn catalogue
(I would also like to add that every night my mattress wakes up about a foot to the left from the frame every morning. I have no clue what i do when im sleeping, but it sounds like a nightmare... or a party)

Thank You Notes
In honor of Thanksgiving in November, I am going to write one thing I am thankful for everyday in November:
Nov.1 Thank you, Vince, for your heart to hearts. And for that matter, thank you, best friends, for always being there for me.
Nov.2 Thank you, snow plows. There was a blizzard last night so there would be no way I could drive without you.
Nov.3 Thank you, Jimmy Fallon, for giving me a paradigm for my thank you notes in November. (see link... and watch it, cuz you wont know what the hell im talking about... )
Nov.4 Thank you, nailpolish, for hiding my flawed, chipped, and dirty fingernails. You make my hands look beautiful.
Nov.5 Thank you, travel-sized products, for making me feel like a giant whenever I'm on vacation.
Nov.6 Thank you, Green Bay Packers, for STILL being undefeated. And thank you, Chargers, for still scoring, cuz I got free sake-bombs from your points.
Nov.7 Thank you, mystery joint left in hotel room. That's what I call room service! But I am still wondering how you got there.
Nov.8 Thank you, haircuts, for making my hair healthy and shiny. Now I can play with you even more!!
Nov.9 Thank you, flight delays due to mechanical issues with the engine. I just love knowing that if we would have taken off, I could be dead right now.
Nov.10 Thank you, sweet dreams, because I never really appreciated you until I had a horrible nightmare.
Nov.11 Thank you, today, for being 11/11/11 and allowing me to make all the wishes in the world that will probably not come true just because of your number sequence.
Nov.12 Thank you, Starbucks 'skinny' drinks, for allowing me to put on some holiday weight and still not feel guilty about that venti peppermint mocha.
Nov.13 Thank you, Victorias Secret Pink Nation event, for letting me dance and sing without getting in trouble at work.
Nov.14 Thank you, fumbles, for making the Vikings look like they tried even a little bit against the unstoppable Packers. (On second thought, a shutout would have been perfection --friends reference, chandler)
Nov.15 Thank you, diggers and dozers, for making a giant hole in the ground where my house should go. Yay for building!
Nov.16 Thank you, vaseline, for being a multi-tasker. You are my makeup remover, body lotion, face lotion, lip balm, and trust me, much more. I will slather you anywhere! Haha.
Nov.17 Thank you, Sam's Club/Costco, for sharing your holiday samples with me. Free Meal!
Nov.18 Thank you, pay day! (Self-explanatory)
Nov.19 Thank you, white erasers, for not leaving any smudge marks like those pink ones. I mean, I'm not eraser-racist, but c'mon pink! You make all those eraser shavings too! Just try to be whiter... or even blacker. Man, those black erasers will get out anything! They are the ninjas of eraser hierarchy.
Nov.20 Thank you, sore muscles, for letting me know in the most painful way that I did in fact, have a successful workout.
Nov.21 Thank you, socks, for keeping my toes warm during the day. Sorry, but for some reason you are just awkward in bed. If I did ever sleep with you, I was drunk and it meant nothing.
Nov.22 Thank you, cell phone, for being so resilient. I have dropped you and misplaced you so many times and you have still survived. Yes, you many have battle wounds and scars, but you lived though all of my torment and neglect.
Nov.23 Thank you, 8am Turkey Trot, for making me go to bed at a decent hour.
Nov.24 Thank you, Thanksgiving Day, for reminding us all we are thankful for- friends, family, health, and wealth. (And of course turkey, mashed potatoes, vino, and pie!!!)
Nov.25 Thank you, Black Friday Deals, for making otherwise normal people- crazy as fuck.
Nov.26 Thank you, Rob Panza, for showing Rome what its like to be raw, fresh, and awesome back in 2009. Your legend lives on in our holiday christmas cards.
Nov.27 Thank you, fire, for hot showers, warm baths, heated apartments, etc. All which I did NOT have today.
Nov.28 Thank you, Christmas Shopping. I can feel good about giving to others AND buying things for myself while I'm at it!!
Nov.29 Thank you, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, for making every girl watching want to starve herself and become a VS Angel. And to all the guys watching, praying for a nipple slip. Lol
Nov.30 Thank you, Christmas songs, for making my drive to work more joyful and merry (and embarrassing when I find the driver next to me is staring as I'm belting out Josh Groban)!
And that's NOVEMBER!!! Happy Holidays everyone! Hope you have a blessed December. Love is all around.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
We visited the house AGAIN today... this time with dad. He wanted to do a ribbon cutting ceremony. We didnt have one of those big ribbons or a large pair of scissors, and usually you do this BEFORE you break ground, but dad insisted. I climbed to the top of on of the dirt piles and let me tell you... it was NOT dirt. more like rock and hard chunks of clay. Because of this 'not dirt-like' substance, the builders have to drill holes below the basement and put footers in about 30 ft deeper into the ground. YIKES! As the house starts being framed, I want to do a time lapse photo series. Periodically, i'll document the progress of the house. Lovely, right?

Perfectly Uneventful.
This past week, work had HARDLY scheduled me. Im guessing they are trying to train new employees for the upcoming Black Friday craziness. Eesh! scary day (we open at 4am!). In the event of having lots of free time to myself all this week, i did 'self things' which mainly means working on my graphic design portfolio :) I did do other things, like painted my nails, went shopping, went for a walk- the weather has been gorgeous out, but mainly, a lot of nothing (which is nice too). So today I went cowboy boot shopping! Im obsessed with cowboy boots now-ones with lots of detail (opposite of my mother who loves plain and boring). I must have a pointed toe- well because fashion is fashion and of course I need a boot that mostly resembles a stiletto. lol. Ive always looked to Jessica for style tips and ideas and these boots are adorable:

(Miley has been known to rock the cowboy boots pretty often. She has a cute style too.) Today I finally unpacked my backpack from my Minnesota vacation because I needed to start working out again. (I always pack my workout gear in my backpack and then head to the gym.) Found a vanilla cupcake candle I had bought for my friend for her birthday when I was in town and forgot to give it to her. (happy birthday catherine! <3) So i decided to light it today for a little bit of warm yumminess ;)
To add to my sweet tooth, today I also made rice krispie treats! Usually those last about 2-3 days in our family because they are SO delicious and everyone attacks them like there is no more food left in the world. We'll see how long they ACTUALLY last! I miss being all creative with my baked goods- so they were just plain krispies. If I had the means, they would be holiday decorated, maybe cut out into turkey shapes in favor of thanksgiving coming up.... lol. ANYTHING CUTE! Oh and speaking of cute, my mom had found this recipe. Acorn Treats Recipe how freakin cute?!??!?!?! Perfect fall snacky! Aand, I dont mean to brag but I had the best din ev. Three Words: Asian Lettuce Wraps. YUM-O. ground turkey with sauteed onions and garlic in a ginger dressing, topped with shredded cabbage and carrots, a touch of soy sauce, and chopped cashews. It was literally Chinatown in my mouth. And although I was a bit cliche and ate next to my lucky chinese bamboo plant, I was drinking wine from Chile. Lol. I have also been playing around with lomo effects in photoshop...
(Heres a link to lomography if you dont know what it is.) Yeah, Im starting to become passionate about weird photography. what. uh. Hope yall have a good weekend! Find something new to try and become passionate about! Ps. If you missed thursday night football, Broncos beat the Jets by 4 in one hell of a game!

Colorado Springs
Today, my mother an I took a day trip to Colorado Springs to visit our dear friend, Lindsey. Me and Lindsey took dance lessons together way back when we both lived in Wisconsin. And now we have reunited in Colorado!! She toured us all around town. We went to a mexican place downtown CS which was really good ;) Then we traveled to the Garden of the Gods which is this really awesome rock formation. Some people were rock climbing but we just hiked around and had some fun. Next we went into a small town near Pikes Peak called Manitou Springs. They have these naturally carbonated springs with fountains all around the town. You could fill up water bottles or simply sample the water out in the open. Each one tasted a little different because of the location of the various springs. Very cool experience. (some tasted alright, but some- not so much!) Lol. Aand... my goal while I was out in Colorado was to find someone to teach me how to snowboard. Lindsey offered to teach me... mission accomplished! Cant wait for the winter! Thanks, Lindsey for a fabulous trip!!

Travel FML
I cannot believe of all things in life, THIS is the question I have to decide... Minnesota, Cali, or NYC. SERIOUSLY. I dont even have money for any trip, but I want to go to all three!! Yesterday my friend Jody invited me to a Roma reunion in New York. Most of the girls are already over on the east coast so it's easy for them to travel a couple miles, but I'm so far away!! I have not seen them in over 2 years and it would be so great to reconnect with all of those girlies that I studied abroad with in Italy! That would definitely be a fun trip cuz I've never been to NY, but definitely costly. I miss all my friends in MN/WI and would love to visit all of them too! AAND on top of that, I promised my friend Brooke I would visit her in California as soon as I could. What to do, what to do! OMG i guess I almost forgot this one too.... my sister is going to Chicago for her 25th birthday in October and she wanted me to come... apparently mom and dad nixed that trip (my sister asked them to cover me cuz she would never make ME pay!) PS. since I've been looking up flights so much lately, I had to do some internet research to find cheap tickets. In my opinion, airfarewatchdog.com is the best site cuz they email you when flights have gone down in price ;) DAMN I HOPE TO SEE YOU REAL SOON!!!

Leah's Restaurant Guide
Over the last few weeks, i have been going out to dinner at various restaurants around the southern denver area courtesy of OTIS. Here are my thoughts:
Garbanzo’s Mediterranean Grill
Superdelicious, healthy place. Set up kinda like Chipotle where you can choose one of 4 meals. Choose your protein... and choose your toppings/sauce/dressings. Delish!
Panera
Obv an all-time fav. I go there at least once a week. They have a new rewards card program… sign up! It’s free and they will randomly give you a free sandwich or free cookie/bagel. Sounds like a good deal to me!
CB & Potts
OMG. FAV SPOT. Super good food. Microbrewery. Really good beer. Lots of tv’s- sports bar atmosphere. Our waitress was great. I would go there literally every day.
Via Baci
Modern Italian. Known for their Neapolitan pizzas. Yummy bread. Okay food, Horrible service. We were waiting for like 45 min. and the manager did nothing. Would probably never go back.
Brio Tuscan Grille
Delicious Italian food from America. Large portions. Super yummy desserts. We got the tiramisu. I know my tiramisu because I’ve had plenty from different places, this ones in the top 5. Def #1 Italian recommendation.
White Chocolate Grill
Known for their steaks, unfortunately I do not like steak so I ordered this chicken crepe with mushrooms plate. It was pretty good but I wouldn’t order it again. Atmosphere was nice… bar area was cool. (desserts were all white chocolate sweets)
Red Robin
An American fav. Love the steak fries. Will always love Red Robin.
Which Wich
Sub Sandwich place. Has the BEST sandwiches. Really good turkey, better than subway. LOTS of options. Cool experience to order. (you fill out a paper bag with a red sharpie- kinda gotta go there to get what im saying) There’s only 1 in MN… in Blaine, but I would say its def worth the drive.
Quandary Grille, Breckenridge
Great food- I ordered a build your own burger. Ate on the patio, had bags outside, great atmosphere, great music. Younger crowd, yet family restaurant.
Blue River Bistro, Breckenridge
Expensive and not really good food, despite critics reviews. I got the mac and cheese. It was a super small portion. Me and my mom got bloody mary’s and they were horrible. We had to ask for more worcestershire sauce and they were still bad after our addition. I couldn’t even finish mine.
Outback Steakhouse
Again, a fav of mine. Will always love the blooming onion. That sauce they pair with it is sooo goooood!
Kona Grill
Great Asian restaurant. They offer sushi, but we didn’t get any even though it looked really good. I ordered the pad thai- really good and would get that again. Drinks were a little spendy. Patio was full- would have like to sit outside… maybe next time!
Lodo’s Bar and Grill
Not great. Average food. They have a sports bar patio on the roof, but it was raining that day. Kinda boring place, boring food. By just driving by, it gets more interesting later in the evening.
Five Guys
I haven’t been to a Five Guys since I was in Madison last. They have great burgers. Amazing fries. No need to order a large, they fill up the fry container and then fill up the rest of your bag with a ton more fries. None of their burgers contain trans fats cuz they use peanut oil…. And they have free peanuts!!
Ruby Tuesdays
Their menu has definitely changed…. A lot more healthy options. For every entre, you get to choose 2 sides… one can be their salad bar- my personal fav. They have the BEST croutons!!

Yummy Treats!
I went to Target a couple of days ago and was craving something sweet.... I remembered our old neighbors (I hate having to call them 'old neighbors') bought some of these little bite size brownies and they were AMAZINGLY delicious. I searched the Target bakery and got the LAST ONE. whoo! Beware, these little bites heaven are seriously addicting, you just cant have one... i usually go for two or three.... or four ;) I miss baking so much! We dont have any pans or pots or mixing appliances. Im craving making cupcakes or blondies or something!!! I might just have to resort to rice krispies.. at least thats something. We need to find a house soon so i can bake!

Breckenridge
Over the weekend, me and the fam took a trip to Breckenridge for my moms birthday. We hiked down the mountains, hiked up just a bit. Got lunch right when we got there. My dad said he must've at some bad soup because halfway down our hike, he started double timing it cuz his stomach did not feel good. Well I guess he made it back in time cuz his pants were not shit-stained. LOL. Sorry dad. Then we went to The Quandary Grill for dinner. This place had such good food, I'd recommend it to anyone. They had bags outside and played pretty awesome music. Its kinda tucked back in this little shopping area right off Main Street. You wouldnt be able to see it from the street. Those places are the best. The next day was my mom's birthday. Unfortunately, it was my first day at Victoria's Secret and I had to work 8+ hours because we were short staffed on LABOR DAY.... ya, the day that everyone goes shopping. I'll come back to Victoria's Secret... but when i got home, me and mom went out to Garbanzo's. Its this mediterranean grill kinda set up like chipotle. Really good food, really healthy. We came back for presents and cake. Im so jeal of all my moms gifts... PINK sweatshirt, Volcano candle from Anthropologie (best smelling candle EVER), Coach perfume, chocolate, flowers, etc etc. Makes me want to go shopping!!! AHH. So Victoria's Secret.... this is the BIGGEST DAMN VS I've ever seen in my life! Take the 2 MOA stores and combine them, then add the VSX line (sports) and the Supermodel line (travel) and you've got our store. Makes me want to spend my paycheck. For any of you VS employees/ former employees... this store has 3 BWC's, 9 registers, 3 entrances, 3 PINK rooms, 2 Very Sexy Rooms, a Body room, a Cotton Room... ya just for cotton panties, and etc rooms galore. And don't get me started on ROYGBV. The store is so big, that after the initial floorset, they just dont care because it would take literally 4 hours to close. It still pretty amazing and I'm so excited to be in that store. Okee....bye lovers!
check out my Breckenridge pictures!!

Shopping and Football
The past couple of days we've been house shopping, outlet shopping, and grocery shopping. Bought some new clothes which always makes me happy :) Last night, went out to dinner with Brian at Kona Grill- we didn't get their sushi, but still really good food. And this afternoon, went to lunch with our old neighbors from Wisconsin. So good to see the Demmon's again!! Now, watching some Badger football. Denver can't deny me my Wisconsin boys. On Wisconsin!

Beer
Tonight we went to CB&Potts- amazing restaurant and brewery. Each of us (mom, dad and me) got different beers from their brewery. I dont remember the names of all of em, but were for SURE going back there so i'll def remember soon ;) im always afraid to get really dark beers (the middle one is my dads)... so i tried a taste of his and ohmygod it is the best beer ive ever tasted. it has a sweeter after taste, molassesy, but really light. SOOO GOOD!!! another one for the stout beer club to check out :)

House Pictures
Moving Day(s)
Today is moving day. Sad. It took 3 days to get all the crap out of our house and into boxes and into a truck packed to the brim. (Luckily, I didn't have to do any of the work!) Its sad to see all the empty rooms. The first day of packing was my birthday. Saddest bday ever. On Tuesday, our neighbors had a going away party for us and had a cake for our fam. Greatest neighbors ev. The next night my friends and neighbors came over to wish us well and to say our goodbyes since it was the last night in Lakeville. We went to Rudy's for drinks and then tried to stay at the Holiday Inn... welp, dad made the reservation for the wrong day and we had to drive to another hotel without full occupancy. Way to go dad.

Birthday in Menomonie
Over the weekend, I traveled to Menomonie, WI - location of UW-Stout for my birthday. Visited friends, did shots, and although I can never go to Menom without some drama, I had the best time with my closest friends. We went to Boyceville's pickle fest and for the first time, I ate deep fried pickles. Its serioulsy the best way to eat pickles. YUM. Never made it to the Bottoms over the weekend ;( but got Waterfront wings for the last time!! Im gonna miss that shit town. Summary... I was solid drunk for a good 48 hours. lol. And thank you Vinny for everything you did for me that weekend!!

Last Day at Vikkis
Today was my last day working at Victoria's Secret. I made cupcakes for everyone just to say goodbye. Everyone loved them but I was sad because I made such good friends only working there for a short period of time. Im seriously going to miss everyone at Vikkis so much!! My cupcakes are super delish because my frosting recipe is DIVINE!!!!! I found the recipe online and I would never be so selfish to keep it to myself so im sharing it!! SHARING IS CARING ;) Our Best Bites Frosting Recipe You have never tasted heaven until you've tasted this frosting!! If you go ahead and make it, i would totally double the recipe.... there's never enough after secretly licking the spoon a couple dozen times ;) Ok, so as I'm getting out of my car to walk into work, I quickly grab the cupcakes but accidentally flipped one of the containers over. I was so pissed cuz I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to cupcakes and their decoration, but at least the other box was okay. Everyone ate the pretty ones first of course, so I could only get a pic of the ugly cupcakes. Love you all Victoria's Secret Burnsville!!!

Packing: Day 1
Brought down my suitcases from the attic. Starting to pack my '2 months of clothes' because were going to be living in temporary housing until we can find a house. Moving in 1 week ;( Sad. Went to Great Harvest and got 4 loaves of bread and cookie today... for FREE!!! Were trying to get rid of coupons we have saved. More free stuff to come!!! Also, stocked up on some liquor... lol. We actually just needed empty boxes to pack up our half-filled bottles of booze for the drive to Denver.
